Milano Development was founded by
current president Joseph S. Milano in 1972. From the first houses back in those
early years, to our latest subdivision, quality has always been the basic ingredient in a Milano-built home. Through the years, Milano Development has
built over 300 homes along the Connecticut shoreline. Mr. Milano has also
maintained an active presence in the local home building community, serving as president
of the New Haven county chapter of the National Association of Home Builders, in addition
to being named New Haven County Builder of the Year in 1984.
Adhering to these same high standards, Milano Development has also built
34 commercial/industrial buildings in Guilford and
Madison, encompassing over a quarter million square feet. These buildings, leased
and managed by Milano Development, encompass all aspects of the real estate market:
retail, industrial,
office, residential, & self-storage.
Currently, Mr. Milano devotes a significant amount of his free time
to serving on local town committees. Most recently he has
contributed to the renovation of Guilford's public schools, and served
as Chairman of the building committee to oversee the construction
Guilford's police and fire stations and animal shelter.
In recent years, Mr. Milano has been joined in the family business
by his son David and his daughter Jennifer. David handles the
commercial leasing and management while Jennifer spends most of her
time on legal and advertising issues. In addition, David and
Jennifer have formed a real estate brokerage, Milano Real Estate LLC,
to handle the sales of the latest Milano-built homes.
